Kid Cudi is moving in the right direction after he injured himself during his Coachella performance.
In a video he posted on Wednesday, July 10, you can see the Cleveland native walking on crutches for the first time in four months. Cudder has been in physical therapy since he had two surgeries to repair the calcaneus bone in his foot. Doctors inserted 10 screws in his foot and put it in a boot, which he has to wear for the remainder of his recovery. The rapper-actor said his mother was with him when he took his first steps last weekend.
"July 7th 2024, first day doing "toe touch" puttin light weight on my foot," he wrote. "Im doin much better as of today. Can put about 20% of weight on it. As the weeks go by, ill add more weight and then ill be able to walk with out crutches baby! Still got a ways to go, but this was my first time walking in 4 months and I was mad happy to see the progress. My mom filmed this video through tears haha she was so happy to see me walk again."
Kid Cudi injured his foot when he jumped off stage during his surprise set at Coachella in April. Due to the severity of the injuries, Cudi was forced to cancel his "INSANO World Tour" featuring supporting acts Pusha T, Jaden Smith and EARTHGANG. Although his tour was canceled, his injury hasn't stopped him from dropping new music. Before he posted the update about his recovery, Kid Cudi shared his new song "Dreams I See" in support of the newest edition of his comic book series Moon Man.
"Im comin back yall, stronger and more focused," he concluded in his caption. "Ive been sitting at home in my dim lit room plotting my resurgance, and soon, we will ride again. 😈"
