iHeartRadio's latest On The Verge Artist Skylar Blatt makes sure no one else will ever sleep on her again with her new smash hit.

The rising lyricist recently dropped "Wake Up" featuring Chris Brown via Arista Records. Produced by TM88, Car!ton and Too Dope, Skylar raps about turning her problems into dollars while coming up in her hometown of Cincinnati. She hands the mic over to Breezy, who matches her catchy cadence and raps about the problems his money brings from jealous people to squabbles with haters.

I feel like the creative process was amazing," Blat tells iHeartRadio. "I knew I had to get in a certain type of bag with the "Wake Up" record."

Skylar Blatt and Chris Brown first after she dropped her song "F**k Fame" last year. The 28-year-old rhymer still remembers the moment she found out that he reposted her song to his Instagram page.

"I was excited, of course," Blatt explains. "I'm DMing him like, 'Yo, thank you. I appreciate that.' He was going on tour the next month and the tour was coming to Cincinnati, my hometown. I went to see him, but I'm literally in the crowd just chilling, like watching him perform. I DM'd him, I'm like, 'Yo, I want to come back there and get some pictures.' So, like 30 minutes later, he wrote me back, he like, 'Yo, I'm about to send somebody to come get you.'"

From backstage to the after party, Blatt remained close by Brown as he introduced her to his inner circle and gave her words of encouragement that she'll never forget. He also got her phone number and said he wanted to work together in the future. Shortly after they met, Blatt says she cooked up her song "Wake Up" and instantly thought about sending it to Chris.

"Pretty much it was just me taking a chance for real," she says. "So I sent him the record. He was like 'Yo 'Wake Up' is fire, like, it's fire.' He had called me later on that day like 'Don't put it out, do not put it out. I got you' because he was still on tour. Three weeks later, he reached out like, 'Yo, I got you, I ain't forgot about you. I promise, I got you.' So, that following week he had called me, he was like, 'Can you talk?' I'm like, 'Of course I can talk' — like, it's Chris Brown. So he FaceTimed me, he was in the studio. He was like, 'Yo, listen to this. Let me know what you think about this verse.' He played the verse for me, and it was amazing, like, I ain't gonna lie, I was so excited. That was one of the most exciting moments I had in my life."

A few weeks later, Blatt decided to celebrate her birthday out in Los Angeles and shoot the music video for their collaboration. Blatt and Brown got together and shot the video while they posted up at a basketball court and rode around in an all-red Maybach.

"We had already stayed connected when I first met him though on the day of the tour,' Blatt says. "We was already building our relationship so once we shot the video it was like a connection like that's big bro."

Prior to her song with CB, Skylar Blatt gained serious traction from her solo hits “I Can Tell” and “Urgent Care." After Meek Mill cosigned her, she locked in collaborations like “Exactly” featuring Babyface Ray & Midwest Milly, “God Forbid” featuring Icewear Vezzo and “Superbowl (BENGALS)” featuring Doe Boy.
