Sean "Diddy" Combs caught another break ahead of his sex trafficking trial after one of the lawsuits he faced was dismissed.

U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman tossed out the case on Monday, March 31, after an unknown woman declined to re-file her legal complaint against Combs under her real name. The woman previously sued the mogul as Jane Doe in October 2024 and accused him of sexually assaulting her at a party in 1995. She was represented by attorney Tony Buzbee, who filed dozens of lawsuits against Combs. Judge Liman denied Doe's request to proceed with the case anonymously and ordered her to file a new complaint under her real name.

“As of [March 3], Plaintiff has not filed a complaint in her own name, nor has she sought an extension of time to do so," Judge Liman wrote per People. "Accordingly, the case is dismissed.”

After the ruling, Combs' legal team addressed the issue of anonymity among the seasoned artist's accusers. They also chastised the woman's attorney and predicted more cases will be dismissed.

“For months, we have seen case after case filed by individuals hiding behind anonymity, pushed forward by attorneys more focused on media headlines than legal merit,” Combs' attorneys said. “The other claims, like the one dismissed today, also will not hold up in a court of law.”

“This is now the second case brought by these attorneys against Mr. Combs that has been dismissed in its entirety,” they added. “It will not be the last.”

Before Judge Liman's ruling, another judge had dismissed several allegations from Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones' lawsuit against Combs. Despite his recent victories, Combs still faces several other sexual assault lawsuits. He's denied any wrongdoing in those cases. His latest win comes a month before he's set to face sex trafficking charges in his upcoming trial. His trial will begin on May 12.
